A new Peace Pole was unveiled and blessed Thursday at Hale Halawai for the International Day of Peace.

Members of the Rotary of Kona Sunrise ended their day in Kona for the dedication after ceremonies in Hilo, Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area and West Hawaii Civic Center.

Another pole will be dedicated today in Waimea at North Hawaii Hospice.

After the dedication in Waimea, there will be 36 Peace Poles located around the Big Island.
